Ok, so another NHL game tonight worth a punt.

Colorado Avalanche visit surging Anaheim Ducks, the defending Stanley Cup Champions, who have won last 8 of last 10 at the Honda Center. Anaheim is 1-1-0 so far on its current seven-game homestand, losing to Dallas 4-2 (let's not forget that Dallas are on the roll now) and beating Calgary 2-4 (which I think is pretty impressive, considering Calgary's fire power AND good team play) . The Ducks finished a nine-game road trip with five consecutive wins after going winless in the first four contests. Anaheim is

17-8-4 at home, while Colorado is 12-14-3 on the road. Avalanche lost 4 straight but worse of all without their key men, Stastny and Sakic, they have been outscored 12-3 in that stretch. According to the latest news Sakic is not gonna play tonight and Stastny is a big doubt which will be a big blow for Avalanche! Ducks won last two between these two teams by the same scoreline 2-1 home and away, one ending in over time.

Ducks are 4-1-0 in the last five, beating the likes of Detroit, Devils, Calgary etc.

With Avalanche not being able to score and Ducks having perfect defenders in guys like Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Mathieu Schneider, Francois Beauchemin, Sean O'Donnell, Kent Huskins and Mathieu Schneider and Kent Huskins I think this can only go one way, Ducks way. Oh not to mention that with goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere (he's a legend!) backstopping this defensive six-pack, they're giving up just 2.40 goals, third best in the League! Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and veteran Teemu Selanne will prove to be difficult to deal with tonight I'm sure...

I have to mention that Colorado has also been pretty poor on the power play during their slide, going 0-for-18 - that just breathes confidence, considering the above

mentioned experienced Ducks defensmen they will have to deal with tonight! It's important to have good power play unit in order to win games, Colorado lack that big time. Peter Budaj will start in goal against Anaheim. Budaj is 15-9-3 with a 2.65 goals-against average and .902 save percentage.

Avalanche are 1-4-0 in their last five, loosing to Detroit, Chicago, Anaheim etc. (I hope you can see the loosing pattern here).

With Avalanche struggling for fire power and Anaheim being solid in defense backed up by Giguere in goal I strongly believe that this will be over in regular

time, i.e. 60 min. This should be low scoring affair that will be won by Ducks, possibly by 2 goal margin. Bet on Ducks to win in regular time!
