Premiership - Bolton vs Portsmouth Football betting preview

Bolton were lucky to come up with a 2 goal result against Reading. Bolton have a clear problem scoring goals and over the last few weeks we have seen that has been their main problem. Bolton have been playing a total defensive game trying to lock out teams from scoring at all.

Pompey on the other hand have been continuously reported for their scoring problems in the last few weeks but the addition of Jermaine Defoe and Milan Baros all that is expected to change. Defoe showed last week that he wants goals and he needs goals, and showed of a cracking game against Chelsea. While Defoe could have won the game for Pompey, I think that a game like this against Bolton can really do their forward line a world of good by putting the results on the board.

Bolton have to turn only to Nolan and occasionally Davies to come up with some goals ever since they sold their top goal scorer Nicolas Anelka, who could up with the goods at any points of time, but that doesn’t seem likely so often. Bolton look good for the loss this week and for the drop on the league unless they can come up with the goals from somewhere.

Pompey’s backline with David James in goal, who had a good game for England as well as the recent good form of Distin, Johnson and Campbell, should help them hold on to a clean sheet in this one.
