This is what Welling boss Andy Ford had to say on his first game in charge that resulted in a 6-2 loss to Cambridge City at home.

"It could have been a better debut, sometimes with the momentum of a new manger coming in it gives a bit of impetus to the players. Very disappointed with the result. When we got back into it at 3-2 I thought we had a bit of momentum. I was quite pleased at that stage but the fourth goal was the killer. The last 15 minutes, it was like trying to run a car with no petrol; their fitness levels were very poor. It was the last 20 minutes that really disappointed me today''

The worrying fact here is the players fitness which would worry any team and even more so Andy is displaying this negative message in view of all which will be music to the ears of Newport County.

Now they are going to come up to Welling with a game plan to wear out the welling players, lots of passing football and let them run.

Newport are in 4th place and a damn good team. They have reputation for being a dirty side who are very physical. They have a great chance for promotion albeit through the play off but they will need to keep their main form going.

Welling have lost 6 out of their last 7 games and it looks like even a new manager cant get their players performing.
