Monterrey

Monterrey on home is hard to beat, altought in home now accumulates three matches with out victory there, even one defeat on that period. But with coach Ricardo Lavolpe, who arrive barely 10 days to the start of the season, the team has taken the lead in their last two matches, but again the defense haven't hold together with the offensive don't producing more has hold the team to two draws.

With an offensive where FW Humberto Suazo scored in last match and FW De Pinho near to do so, the expectations are positive. For this match returns DF Felipe Baloy for Monterrey and that is something positive for the defense, where GK Christian Martinez is having a good performance. Also for this match returns captain MF Jesus Arellano and MF Walter Erviti, a great boost for the middlefield.

Chiapas

For Chiapas, the youth GK has showed some quality and is making a great job in place of departed GK Omar Ortiz, which is good for the defense and one of the reasons the team is unbeaten this season. Together with a great form of FW Adolfo Bautista, performance that granted him a call to the National Team for friendly match against USA in February 6.

The team achieve a nice draw against Atlante, which should have been victory but in the last minute concede defeat. In the second match they took against America which isn't a shadow of the great team they are, and where able to come back with a great presentation of FW Itamar Baptista, which scored a goal. So Chiapas came with a great sinergy and playing fine.

I sense Monterrey is better on defense than Chiapas, and hold more offensive power than Chiapas. With the comebacks in the middlefield for Monterrey gave them the edge in my view, as they will have more options, meanwhile Chiapas have showed dependance to great moments of FW Bautista which will be coverd. I sense Monterrey on home to comeback to victory.
