The match is Joseph Sirianni against Steve Darcis.
Joseph Sirianni -75 has never been a great tennisplayer but made some progress last year being 25-18 in challengers and 15-5 on the hard surface. He has a decent first serve and compared to his first serve his second serve is great. He is 175cm tall so his serve isn't as destructive as it could be if he were a bit taller. He is a baseline player. Last week he played his first maintournament for a four years. He won Stepanek, Querrey and Mathieu, sounds good but Stepanek retired, Querrey's form right now a bit mystery for me and I think the heat made the trick for Mathieu. I saw Sirianni's match against Llodra. Sirianni played a nervous game and what was more surprising Llodra controlled their baselinerallies. Sirianni has strong arms but tactically his game was more than weak.
Steve Darcis -84 came to the knowledge for the public last year while he won Amersfoort claytournament. Even his clayresults are more impressive than his hard results he favours hard as his favourite surface. He has a good serve. Weaker than Sirianni's is my opinion but Darcis is definately better ballreturner and after Sirianni's match I have a big believe Darcis controls their baselinegames too as a good mover and strong hits.
Darcis came to the tournament trough qualies winning Dancevic, Coelho and Korolev. Last week he lost for Querrey whom Sirianni won. Players trough qualies has made usually well at Sydney.
