From the start of the season it's sometimes hard to predict winners because all of them aren't fully motivated or otherwise their christmas or new year has been dedicated to other things and they aren't on their best. Then the wisest move try to find motivated players who all giving their best.

Xavier Malisse is problemed by injuries. Foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist. If we'll leave that out he is very good player on the hard. 2006 25-13 and last year 10-3 winning at Chennai where they are playing now. He said before the tournament he is at least in as good form as he was last year. It was then maby a hard to believe bacause his gameless streak but now it seems like X-Man is back on the surface he favours most. Games against Muller and Melzer and no even given breakpointattemps.

Maikhail Youzhny is other story. He is able to play good game but also prone to errors. At first he won Jiri Vanek easily but then hard match against Roger-Vasselin. RV got 5-0 lead in the first set, lost 5-7, won the second set and Youzhny won the last set. Much errors from both players and when Malisse has kept his game together I think Youzhny has to scarp much if wanting to win the match.

Malisse leads head-to-head 3-1 but can't predict much from them in this situation. Motivated Malisse a slight favourite for me against Youzhny who shouldn't have bigger motivation.
