Chelsea Newcastle
I have to start with the following: unlike most of my friends, I don’t think that when a top team has to do without many of its stars and has to play with players regarded as just having a backup role at the club it is bound to produce bad results. And this is the case with Chelsea now. I know that Terry, Carvahlo, A.Cole, Lampard and Drogba are world class players and surely Chelsea without them is not the same team BUT I have big respect for the likes of Alex, Pizzaro, Ballack. In my opinion Chelsea with them is still a top class club. I will not go into details and discuss all the achievements of the players who will be in the starting eleven today and who wouldn’t normally start, I will just say that I believe Ballack to be a better player than Lampard. You can agree, you don’t have to, it’s just my opinion. Therefore I believe Chelsea are favorites in this game. Newcastle are really poor now, I haven’t seen their game against Wigan but have read they have managed just one shot on goal in 90 minutes! They are having many problems on and off the field (Barton) and the pressure is mounting for Sam Allardyce. Newcastle fans seem to have had enough of poor displays and are really furious with Big Sam and the players too. I expect Chelsea to start the game with only one thing in their mind: to take advantage of the fact that Newcastle has to be insecure nowadays. Chelsea will be playing in front of their own crowd, will want to make up for the lost points against Aston Villa and will surely know that they can defeat Newcastle. The odds on Chelsea win are around 1.4 and that is too little for me. That’s why I had to look for some other possibility and I think I’ve found it. I’m taking Chelsea to win the first half (with middle stakes as they have only 45 minutes to do so)
