I'll come out and say that chelsea are the best defenders in the premier league. The likes of Terry and Carvalho are a formidable centre pairing and easily the best in the league. Carvalho will be missing but Terry will be playing. Chelsea after having a rocky start are really performing now, and are still title contenders. They have kept 5/7 cleansheets at home this year, and have kept 7 cleansheets out of their last 8 home and away games!! amazing stats, and this was without Terry for the most part.

Alot of people had aspirations for Sunderland to make the top 10 or even top 8, but that isnt looking likely at the moment. They are managing to sneak a goal against most teams, but against Chelsea at Stamford is a bit different. They failed to get on the sheet at Old Trafford aswell as when they were at home to Liverpool. Jones is a good player, but i dont think he is one that will trouble Terry too much.

Cech is still out but this is not a big issue, as they have Cudicini, who is rated by many as the best back-up keeper in the world. Apart from that Carvalho is still out aswell as Essien. Both big losses but they have managed to keep it tight without them, and Obi Mikel is a good player in the holding position infront of the strikers. Sunderland have no major injuries to their strikeforce.
