After 13 rounds in Serie A Inter are the clear favorite to win the title. This is not a news as everybody expected Inter to win their third Scudetto in a row. But sometimes, above all in football, things go differently as expected and this can happen with Juventus this year.

Inter are the strongest team and have a lot of quality together with Roma but Juventus are playing with courage and heart every match. Ranieri confirmed to be the best trainer Juventus could choose before the start of the season while many players confirmed to be still fit even after one Serie B season.

Juventus already won 7 games: 5-1 vs Livorno, 3-2 vs Cagliari (here the referee conceded 2 penalties for Cagliari), 4-0 vs Reggina, 1-0 vs Torino, 1-0 vs Genoa, 3-0 vs Empoli and 5-0 vs Palermo. They drew 4 difficult games, 3 of them away: vs Roma 2-2, vs Fiorentina 1-1 (leading until the last minutes), 1-1 at home vs Inter, 2-2 in Parma (here Iaquinta scored a valid gol for the victory in the last minute but the referee did not validate it). Juventus lost 2 games: 0-1 vs Udinese (3 posts hit by Juventus in this game) and 1-3 in Naples against Napoli (2 ghost-penalties given to Napoli). As you can see, without the mistakes done by the referees, Juventus could be at the top of Serie A. Somehow it is normal that the referees do not want to "help" Juventus as it might cause problems to them because of the recent past of Luciano Moggi's Juventus and scandals.

Inter won 8 games: 2-0 vs Empoli, 2-0 vs Catania, 3-0 vs Sampdoria, 4-1 vs Roma, 2-1 vs Napoli, 1-0 vs Reggina, 4-1 vs Genoa, 2-1 vs Atalanta. Inter never lost and drew 4 games: 1-1 vs Udinese, 2-2 in Livorno, 0-0 in Palermo and 1-1 vs Juventus.

In the first part of the season both teams will have to play 2 difficult games (Juventus vs Milan and vs Lazio, Inter vs. Fiorentina and vs. Milan).

In the second part of the season Juventus could solve the only problem they have, the defense. In January new players should arrive in Turin (maybe defenders Ivanovic and Lugano and midfielder Maresca) and, at this point the last problems are solved.

One more difference between Juventus and Inter: Juventus play only the Serie A tournament while Inter also have to play in Champions League. Although they have many first class players on the bench (Figo, Suazo, Crespo, Solari, Stankovic, Burdisso, Toldo) they risk to lose continuity and energy. At the Juventus side they all hold together for a main goal (to reach the best possible place), at the other side Inter have some internal problems (Adriano) and incomprehensions (ex: Mancini and the medical staff).

The real odds for Juventus should now be around 5.00 or 6.00 but not 13.00 as also Roma play in Champions League. Yesterday Juventus were winning 2-0 against Palermo and still they looked for goals until the last minute (final result: 5-0), every player gave his best. Juventus have the best goalkeeper in the world (Buffon), a good (but still not very good defense) with Grygera, Legrottaglie, Chiellini and Molinaro, a very good midfield (Camoranesi, Nocerino, Tiago and Nedved) and a perfect forward (Iaquinta and Trezeguet with Palladino and Del Piero ready to substitute them anytime during the game). David Trezeguet already scored 11 goals (+4 compared to Totti, Kaká and Ibrahimovic). Among other bets I suggest you also to take "Trezeguet Top Scorer in Serie A" during the week. At the moment you find the odds only at Betfair but in the next days other bookmakers will offer this bet again.

In the next 4 rounds Juventus will face Milan, Atalanta, Lazio and Siena, Inter will face Fiorentina, Torino, Cagliari and Milan. In my opinion the odds for Juventus will be lower than now after these 4 rounds. Inter still favorite, but their first rivals this season are Juventus and not Roma.
