NHL - New Jersey Devils vs Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey betting preview

Ok.Can Devils create some momentum after their last impressive win over Tampa, and are Leafs able to protect their goal better then so far?We will get the answer today as Devils take on Toronto in the fresh Prudential Center.

Devils impressed me with their last game.What a focus, what a concentartion.They waited for two periods, defending slowly creating pressure around Tampa goal and then they unleashed their skill - showing some real action and pressure in front of the goal.I have a feeling that it was the game Devils needed to get comfortable and link few wins in a row. They are still waiting for some real action from top players like Elias and Gionta, but thankfully they are getting all they need from other traditional players - Pandolfo,Parise, Madden.

Goalie Brodeur seems to be settling in better, and I expect him to deliver more consistent performance in the upcoming games.

First, Toronto has to decide who to put as a goalie.The choices are currently poor - underperforming Toskala (just remember him with solid displays in SJ) or Raycroft who isnt able to find any consisteny.Three times in their last five games, Leafs gave up 5 or more goals.And that is very bad.They focus on attack too much, but for now cant get good chances into goals - forgetting to come back fast enough and conceeding goals (Leafs dont have the fastest squad).

Devils have had some trouble playing against Toronto in New Jersey - loosing 3 of last 4 games.But if you remember from my last NJ preview, they also had trouble playing Tampa at home and yet destroyed them.

I think that Devils are settled in their new arena.They gained a lot of confidence in their last game, and despite Torontos run of two road wins, they are the favourites here.

Right now New Jesey is the better plaing team with high morale.Toronto players will surely be uptight in the attack as they have to keep defending in their mind (they cant leave everything on their rather poor goalies), while Devild will be flying on the ice.Home win 5:2 seems as possible outcome.
