Man Utd are yet to concede a goal at home, from 5 league games. Two of these include Tottenham and Chelsea, not the weakest of teams. While overall they have only conceded 3 goals in 10 games, easily having the best defensive record in the premiership. While they have had injuries over this period with Neville yet to play a game, the loss of Heinze, and O'Shea being injured, they have still kept it tight at the back.

Middlesbrough on the other hand look like a poor team this year. Over the past few years they have managed to avoid relegation, the main reason being their strikers of Viduka and Yakubu. However in 2007/08 they have neither of these and have to look at Tottenham reject, Mido for their goals.

Middlesbrough's away record sees them with one win from 5 games, this against a poor Fulham. They have managed 3 goals in 5 games, 2 coming against Fulham who have been the worst defensive side at home this year. The other was against a Man City squad, in the 90th minute after the game was well and truly wrapped up and Man City were already up by 3 goals, and only tried to push up to increase this, while not worrying about their defense.

I believe the way Man Utd concede very few is their attack. They are a team that pressures the other team and pushes men forward. While in theory this would lead to goals being conceded. However Man Utd's attack is the best in the league and they are able to take advantage of their opponents and cripple their attack.

The second best centre half pairing will be present tonight, in Ferdinand and Vidic who will not concede against a poor Middlesrbough. besides the injured Neville, there are no significant injuries in the backline, with Van Der Sar back in the squad. Over the previous years, Middlesbrough have performed well against Man Utd, but these were mainly at home. An away Middlesbrough without Viduka and Yakubu will struggle and more than likely, wont put a single goal past the defense of Man Utd.
