His main competitor for this seat is Maxine McKew, an ex-ABC journalist. She is a media personality, with 2007 being her first year running in the Bennelong election. She comes up against John Howard, the leader of the nation. McKew has to win 16 seats to gain a majority in this area, which is an even harder task. The Liberal party, which John Howard is the leader of, has held the seat of Bennelong for 28 years and i cannot see him losing it to someone with alot less experience. The price is at a tasty 1.60 because of recent polls tipping in Maxine's favour, however i believe that poll's mean very little in terms of elections and Howard will win.
