Manchester United play hosts to Wigan Athletic in ninth week of the EPL trying to catch up with Arsenal whom are two points above and with a match less played.

I'll be with Wigan today +2 an that's for the following reasons:

First of all, Man UTD have yet to beat the currently set handicap in the EPL this year. They have played eight matches so far, won in 5, drew in 2, and lost once. Four of their five wins were 1-0 and only once they have managed to win 2-0 which was against Chelsea.

Second, Wigan haven't lost by more than one goal in all 8 matches played. They have lost in four, two were 0-1 and two were 1-2. Additionally, two of these losses were against Liverpool and Everton.

Finally, Manchester had a tough encounter in midweek beating AS Roma 1-0. Although this games was played in Old Trafford, but still Wigan had a whole week to rest while the Reds had to play a tough encounter and will be very happy by the odd goal.

Regarding teams news, van der Sar & Hargreaves are still sidelined due to toe and knee injuries respectively. Brown is doubtful and will probably face a late test. On the other hand, Wigan will definitely be without Heskey, Landzaat, and Valencia due to different injuries while Sibierski is doubtful after missing last wee's fixture against Liverpool.

Verdict: Too much of a handicap in my opinion especially against a team like Wigan whom are no mugs. I'll certainly pick Wigan today
