Last season roughly 75% of Liverpool's games at Anfield ended with one team scoreless. Usually it was Liverpool keeping clean sheets. Nothing looks like changing to be honest. Yet to conceed a goal from open play after 5 Premier League games is good going to say the least. The 2 goals they have conceeded from the penalty spot, Chelsea and Villa.

Agger and Alonso are out with metatarsal breaks. Agger is a bit of a blow for the defence. Alonso is over-rated in my opinion, but does have a scoring habit against inferior opposition. Gerrard and Mascherano probably in centre midfield. Who knows though what tinkering with the line up Benitez may do ??

Birmingham started with a bang, scoring 2 goals at Chelsea on the opening day and then 2 at home to Sunderland three days later. Since then though they have only scored 3 in 4 games. Not exactly really tough games either...West Ham, Derby, Middlesbrough, Bolton. I see 3 of those 4 teams struggling with Birmingham at the bottom end of the table soon. They have yet to win a game after conceeding the first goal, in fact they've yet to score a goal after conceeding first.

Again, expect Liverpool to dominate the match, with Birmingham getting few chances. An expected Liverpoolwin to nil but with the 0-0 and 0-1 insurance, all for the same odds.
