Although this bet is quite risky, for me it looks like a bet of the day on Karlovic. Karlovic played 3 tournaments on hard so far (Indianapolis, Washington and Montreal), he did quite well, especially in Washington reaching the semis. Karlovic is known for his serve, it is very tough to break him if he is playing concentrated and motivated; this surface is very fast and that will suit his serve. I don't know a lot of Melzer and his style of play (I've never watched him), but considering results, he is not in form, he played in Montreal and was eliminated in 1st round by Blake. Melzer is pretty competent on hard (he reached the final in Las Vegas, semifinal in Sydney,..) and besides that he won Karlovic in all h2h matches; he leads 4-0. Karlovic has improved his game lately, he played more matches on hard than Melzer recently and is definitely in better form, so I believe it is the perfect time for Karlovic to end the series of losses against his German opponent.
