Giro D'Italia 2007 (May 12th - June 3rd)

Expekt and also Unibet have opened a market on how many Italians will be in the top 10. The first point of note is that an Italian rider has won this event for the last 10 years!









This years race promices to be a bit more interesting than last years facile win because Ivan Basso has been suspended by his team pending doping charges. With the new regime in cycling a new open and unpredictable era looms.

What we are interested in is exactly how many Italians can get into that top 10. Lets have a look thru previous giros.

The next point of note is that the best (allbeit allegedly with assistance) of the Italian riders Ivan Basso will not be riding having been suspended by his team.

So what great Italian riders are left? Well there is Simoni, Cunego, Savoldelli, Piepoli and Di Luca and thats about it. Im pretty confident that those 5 will not ALL make the top 10 (altho they ought to feature heavily) and while we will likely see maybe 1 suprise performance by an Italian not named i just do not see the strength in depth there. Asking for 6 or more of the top 10 to be Italians is asking a little too much. I certainly know which side of the line i want to be on!

I'm not sure this is the most tremendous value bet i will have thrown on here, in fact i'm sure its not but its worth a dabble to sensible stakes as i think the true price on this bet is probably about 1.65-1.7 and i wouldnt be at all suprised to see it head that way over the next few days (especially if 1-2 Betshooters get stuck into it).

Once again under the revised staking plan, the idea is to win around 4 points so the stake is 5.
