Hendler vs Jovanovski

Tamaryn Hendler is still struggling to reach WTA level of tennis and it doesn’t seem like there is some improvement in her game, especially this season. She will be 20 in a few months, but still with no major results in the highest level of woman’s tennis. This will be her first WTA tournament and that’s only because she is domestic player here. The Belgium is quite unknown to most of the tennis fans, playing only ITF tournaments in last season. Her favorite surface is hard and she had no major success at clay court. Moreover, the previous season was much, much better for her that this one has started. Her only positive result this season was two weeks ago as she played finals of ITF tournament in USA, where she lost to Grace Min (number 178th at WTA rankings) in three sets.

Bojana Jovanovski, on the other side, did much, much more in tennis till now. She is also very young, being only eight months older than her opponent, but her results are way better than the Belgium. However, her results at clay weren’t that impressive till now and this is a perfect chance for her to improve, at least at this tournament. She lost to Tabak and Domachowska at previous tournaments, winning here in qualifying stage against Kapshay and Evtimova, finally losing to Falconi in three, but already knowing that she’ll have the position in main draw as a lucky looser. However, she played much better at hard court this season and especially well was her tournament in Copenhagen, last tournament before the clay court season have started. She reached there third round losing to Martic and now, after a few weeks playing at clay, now it’s perfect time for her to start getting some serious results at clay too.

Neither of these two players are having great season, but Jovanovski is simply playing at this level for much longer time, she is more experienced and surely is way more complete player at this point than unknown Hendler.
