Wozniacki vs Hantuchova

Caroline Wozniacki is still hanging in the top 10 at the WTA rankings, but looking at her form it’s just a matter of form when will she be out of top 10. Her beginning of the season wasn’t that bad, although it should have been much better for a World number 1 that she was. She firstly exited in quarterfinals of Sydney losing to Radwanska, then in quarterfinals of Australian Open losing to Clijsters, then Sharapova, Ivanovic, Georges and Safarova were better than her in next tournaments. Finally, a bit better performances was seen at Copenhagen Open where she reached the finals losing to Kerber in straight sets.
Her clay court season was quite a disaster too, as she no three wins in a row all Spring long. Kerber was better than her in Stuttgart, Serena Williams in third round of Madrid Open, she retired to Medina Garrigues in Rome, while at French Open she reached the third round, winning against Gajdosova and Daniilidou, while Kaia Kanepi was too much for her. McHale and Paszek were too much at Eastbourne and Wimbledon, as she exited in the first round of both tournaments. She struggled in both matches here at Olympics, winning against Keothavong and Wickmayer in three marathon sets.

Daniela Hantuchova, on the other side, played pretty well in first two rounds and especially good her serve worked. Firstly, she made quite a surprise eliminating Chinese Na Li in three sets, 6-2 3-6 6-3. In second round she won over Cornet 6-3, 6-0. Once again, her serve worked well and she gave low number of break opportunities in both matches, at least for WTA standards.
Apart from those two matches, Daniela didn’t have the best season at grass courts as she exited in the first round of Wimbledon losing to Hampton. Neither other grass court tournaments worked out well for her, but she was returning from an injury, as she didn’t play clay court season at all, having to play for more than two months before she started at grass courts. Obviously, it took time for her to find her tennis again, but it looks like she is on a very good way to find her form again.
Caroline is better ranked, but her tennis isn’t at the same level this season. Her serve didn’t work well in first two round matches as she struggled a lot and, for example, gave out twelve break point chances to Wickamayer. This is simply too much and I see this match being much tougher for her then the bookies do.
