Airtricity League: Sligo Rovers vs Bray

Sligo Rovers played away to Dundalk last Friday, where the home side started the match better and scored to the first half, but this good looking performance was bounced cause of Sligo striker North, who scored two crucial goals and turned the game in Sligo side. It was not the best appearance for Sligo, but the job was well done as all three points collected, and the difference from Shamrock, Drogheda and St. Patricks is now increased.
Having in mind that that two of them playing each other tomorrow, Sligo Rovers want to take all three points against Bray Wanderers, hoping that the difference will increase even further. It would be ideal to do this before they will start the European adventure, as they have to play double matches against Spartak Trnava for the second qualifying round of Europa League. The climate is good and their team is optimistic about the outcome, in front of packed stands. For today’s game their problems are minimal.
Defender Jason McGuiness is questionable, while 20 year old newcomer midfielder Ryan Connolly will make his debut. Defender Alan Keane is returning to the squad after ban.
Bray welcomed Cork to their last game, where Cork opened the score with Pursell early at 5th minute, and had a clear lead in the second half scoring the second with Duggan. For another game the defensive line of Bray was terrible, and the defeat came so naturally, with a third goal through the second half. For Bray there was absolutely no change to react, and if their defense will not improve, they will lose lot of next games.
Bray now counts three successive defeats, the first two with 3-1 score and the most recent with 3-0. They were lucky that for another week the teams located below them, did not get any points, but if they will continue like this, they will be found in a difficult position. It is obvious that they need to strengthen their defense, and the administration signed two players, despite the difficult economic conditions for their club. Kevin O’Connor (Worcester City) and Brendan King are the two new acquisitions, which may take part in the game tonight. Main defender Webster is doubtful due to injury, while main defender Sean Houston is definitely out due to cards.
