Serie A: Udinese vs Inter
Udinese is entering derby game after a 1:3 loss on the road against Roma, defeat that totally complicated their position at the table. After being on second or third place for the most of the season, they are not even worrying about getting any kind of European competition ticket at the end of the season. They are currently at fourth position but the difference between them and seventh position is only three points and with six rounds till the end of the season, it’s sure that nothing is granted for them anymore. After slipping so much at the table, the hosts have no other option but to continue playing open minded, attacking football at least in front of their own fans, as they are earning much more points at home in comparison to their away games. Hosts are without midfielder Giampiero Pinzi, who serves a one match ban, while defender Mehdi Benatia and striker Floro Flores are also out injured.
Inter, on the other hand, is at seventh position and as said, they are three points away from Udinese. But also, they are “only” six points away from third position which is the last position that leads to Champions League. This is for sure something that none could have hoped for during February as they were in more than in a poor form. Such a, actually great position, came as unexpected surprise for them, as they were in more than terrible form, but it’s actually thanks to inconsistency of other teams too. Since the new coach came, the team has improved a lot and started getting positive results starting from a 5:4 win over Genoa, 2:2 draw away from home against Cagliari and finally ending with a 2:1 win over Siena at home four days ago. Still, it is obvious that their attack is working well more-or-less, but their main problem remain their defense as they have received seven goals in previous three games. Inter’s defender Walter Samuel is suspended while winger Wesley Sneijder remains unavailable through injury.
