Roma vs Bologna
Roma wrote the history of their club couple of days ago as they managed to get into the new season of Seria A with five consecutive victories. However, 0:2 victory away in Genoa against Sampdoria came much harder than the final result says. They didn’t create much good chances in front of opponents goal all the way till 62nd minute when Totti came as a substitute to field.
Three minutes later, Benatia brought the visitors into a 1:0 lead, while Gervinho added second goal (Totti assisting) for the final 2:0 victory. Coach Rudi Garcia spoke of his delight after the game against Sampdoria, adding that he is very happy that Totti agreed to renew his contract because he is not only a great player, but a great man. He also added that match against Bologna might be the toughest they played till now, as the players will have to give 100% and shouldn’t look only to score, but also to improve as a team.
Striker Destro and right back Torosidis are long term injuries and didn’t participate this season, while the hosts will also be without right defender Maicon (5/0) who picked up an injury in the previous game and had to leave the pitch early. Defensive midfielder Bradley (2/0) is also out for few weeks, with the team having enough options at the bench to cover up the missing players. Hosts will continue with their 4-3-3 formation that worked perfectly till now.
Bologna, on the other side, had a terrible night few days ago as the team overturned lead from Milan from 0:1 to 3:1 lead at home, but still weren’t able to make a huge surprise and seal the victory, as the visitors from Milan scored two goals in last minutes of the game to get a 3:3 final draw.
Coach Pioli was very disappointed after the game, saying that the team must leave behind this game and continue playing like nothing has happened. It was a perfect chance for them to get the first victory in the new season and escape from the bottom of the table, but with only a point earned, they continue very close to the relegating places with a 0-3-2 record. Central defender Natali (4/1) is suspended for the second consecutive match, with other central defender Cherubin being out from the start of the season. Striker Bianchi (4/0) has overcome his injury and might be included into squad from the start of the game. Midfielder Kone returns to action after serving his suspension, while the team will continue with 4-2-3-1 formation.
Bologna has conceded eleven goals in first five rounds and it’s hard to see them, a team that easily concedes and with traditionally poor record away from their stadium being too competitive in a match against well oiled machine like Roma is nowadays.
