Primera: Mallorca vs Villareal
Mallorca is currently on 16th position with only two points more than Racing Santander that is on relegation position. Having in mind current form of this team, it’s quite likely that they will have to fight not to relegate until very end of the season. Mallorcans are playing very unstable through the whole season, they are allowing many defeats, rarely taking draws in tough matches and most important, their home ground is not giving them any significant advance, at least it wasn’t the case till now. Games on the road haven’t been good side of this teams for years and it is the case this season too, but now when they are not very effective at home either, they run into big problems. Having only 4-3-4 record at home is nothing special and is one of the weakest in the league, just after Gijon and Zaragoza. Ivan Ramis, Victor Casadesus and Jose Luis Marti all returning from suspension for the hosts, while Pau Cendros remains out and Chico serves his suspension.
Villareal, on the other side, is only one position above from their opponents and are having only one point more then them. However, the light is visible at the end of their tunnel as they have started playing much better in last month. In last four matches they have three wins and one draw. The draw was at home against mighty Barcelona, while victories were against Gijon 3:0 at home, 2:1 against Sevilla as visitors and finally 3:1 over Granada at home. These results are more then good for any team that is positionated below 5-6th position. Villareal have lost only once in Mallorca in last ten years and they are surely looking to extend their current form and to gain advance over the team which is their rival for relegation battle. However, if Villareal continues to play like they did in last weeks, it is expected that they get much higher position than mid-table, but for now this is surely their main goal – to escape from relegation zone as soon as possible. Guests have no major injury worries as Bruno and Gonzalo are back in the squad again after suspensions.
