Primera: Malaga v Mallorca
Malaga is currently sitting on 9th position which is a big disappointment for them comparing to the start of the season and the position they were at two months ago. As it could be understood, their poor performances in last two months led them down to 9th position as they had seven matches in a row without a win, finally finishing the row two weeks ago when they have won at home over Sevilla 2:1. After that win, they lost with the same result to Granada on the road. Having finally broken their bad run, at least in front of their own fans, Malaga will surely be looking to continue good streak at home and find their position at least in Europa League position by the end of the season. Hosts will be boosted with the returns of Joaquin Sanchez and Ruud van Nisterlooy, while defensive midfielder Martin Demichelis is suspended for two games due his red card against Granada last week.
Mallorca, on the other side, is currently on 14th position with only two points more then Villareal that is on relegation spot. Looking at their squad, individual quality and especially deepness of the squad, they should be happy with avoiding the relegation battle in the end of the season. They had pretty fair results in last weeks winning two out of last five games, against Vallecano on the road and win over Betis at home. However, it’s important to be said that they haven’t scored a goal in other three out of those five games. In-form right back Ivan Ramis, Jose Luis Marti and Victor Casadesus are all suspended, while first-choice right-back Pau Cendros injured.
First game was won by Malaga 1:0 and similar result should be expected today too. Malaga is looking for a win boosted by two important returns (Nisterlooy and Sanchez), while guests are simply having way too many absent players to match much more quality opponent on the road.
