Primera: Mallorca vs Betis
Mallorca is coming into this game after a 0:1 loss to Espanyol on the road. The game itself was very open, with many goal scoring opportunities from both teams, but in the end the hosts have won with a goal from 18th minute which was due a mistake of Mallorca’s goalkeeper. After this defeat, they have completed two games in a row without scoring a goal, still being very close to relegation zone. They are on 15th position with two points more then Villareal who is on relegation position. Hosts have no major injury worries except their first choice goalkeeper is suspended for this game and second goalkeeper Juan Catalayud is set to take his place. Fernando Tissione is also back in the squad as a midfield player after his suspension is over and Marvin Ogunjimi could be handed a rare start up front after impressing as a substitute in the match against Espanyol.
Betis, on the other hand, is having only one point more then their opponents tonight, being on 13th position at this moment. After a great start in first seven rounds when they were league leaders, Betis is really in a bad shape, not only they have entered relegation battle most probably, but they have also lost in a Cup against second division team Cordoba. Real Betis is coming after a 1:2 home defeat to Granada and there is not much they can hope for in this match either. Left back Nando is suspended for this game, while new signing central defender Paulao should be handed a debut.
Betis haven’t won in Mallorca for ten years and most probably the run will continue. Mallorca is playing good football at this moment and they are surely fired up to win another game at home and escape from the relegation battle zone.
