Premier League: Tottenham v WBA
After a disappointing 1:1 draw against Swansea on the road, Tottenham is in the need of a victory over much weaker opponent so they can keep the pace with two leading clubs from Manchester and remain ahead of Chelsea with five points more and a game less. Hosts have been in a pretty good form all this season, with small exceptions, but if they remain to lay like they did till now, they will surely remain as one of the top candidates for the title, not to speak about Champions League spot, which already looks quite safe for them. Midfielder Scott Parker will have a late fitness test in order to find out whether he can play tonight or not. Ledley King and Aaron Lennon are both returning to starting XI after injuries, while Tom Huddlestone remains sidelined.
WBA, on the other side, sits on 14th position and although they had some good moments during this season, their goal is just to survive this one and not to relegate. Although they recently got two victories, on the road against Blackburn and Newcastle, last two games they have played in front of their own fans and they disappointed big time. It’s clear that tough schedule is not working for them, as they haven’t scored in last two matches and got only one point, making goalless draw against Manchester City and losing to Everton 0:1 before two days. Guests will have unavailable defender Chris Brunt(probably one of the best WBA players) as he was red carded during the encounter against Everton, while Shane Long is highly doubful in front of this match. Defender Jonas Ollason is also missing for this match, so it can be said that WBA’s defence will be highly weakened tonight.
The Spurs have won the first game this season by winning 3:1 last month on the road, with two late goals. As the guests had less time to prepare for this one and looking at their missings at the back, it’s pretty clear that Tottenham have very nice chance to win this one easily with more then one goal difference.
