Premier League: Stoke City v Manchester United
Looking at the table it looks like Stoke City over performed a lot till now. Actually not, but their results were very good comparing to their abilities. They are defending great and this is the main reason for their success till now, whats more, they faced up against some teams that weren’t in their best form at that moment and that were simply unable to score at that day (Liverpool, Chelsea). Of course, defense of Stoke played large part in these matches, but still on a good day for teams like Chelsea or Liverpool, teams like Stoke can’t get something more out of the game. Of course, this is a team that is much better at home, having received no goal in first two matches plus holding Tottenham in midweek Carling Cup game to a goalless draw. Hosts had exhausting 120 minutes + penalties against Tottenham on Wednesday night and are probably little tired from this game too. Pulis will be without Kenwyne Jones who injured a hamstring during match against Tottenham, while Salif Diao is also questionable as he sustained a cheekbone injure in the same game.
Manchester United is in a great form on the other side with all Premier League games wins till now. With five wins out of five games they are waiting this match in a great mood. Wins over Arsenal (8-2), Bolton away (5-0), Chelsea at home 3-1 etc, just prove that they are the hottest favorite to win Premier League title this season too. Guests are welcoming back Rio Ferdinand which should provide massive boost to whole team and also Javier Hernandez who should be available after his injury last week.
Traditionally, guests are having easy job against Stoke with last six games all won with no bigger problem. Stoke held three big clubs to a draw at home this summer, but holding Manchester should be just too much for them. They have to be given credit for their latest results, but United simply showed that they are something else comparing to other in this years Premier League.
