San Antonio vs Oklahoma City

San Antonio Spurs are the bench mark this season in the NBA and again showed what a great side they are by dispatching the Thunder 101 – 98.

The Spurs were again a hard side to beat in Game 1 as the Thunder had their chances to pull away in the 3rd and 4th quarters but failed to do so which allowed the Spurs to take the advantage in this series. Again it was the teams stars who did most of the damage with Parker 18pts, Duncan 16 pts and Ginobli 26 pts leading the way, but you also have to look at who didn’t do much for the Spurs with Danny Green having his worst game for a while being scoreless from 6 shots and Leonard only gaining 7 pts going 3-9 from the field.

Oklahoma City Thunder you could say had a bad game in Game 1 but really they didn’t, they had their chances and for the first time in this season’s playoffs they could not take them, Durant 27pts, Westbrook 17pts, Harden 19pts and Fisher13 pts were their main scorers but other productive members of their side did not do much at all, Perkins and Ibaka had 10 pts combined and both players have been far more productive than that, I expect them to play better tonight than Game 1 but I still have doubts over whether that will be enough to stop this strong Spurs juggernaut.

Over the last 3 seasons these sides have met here 6 times with the Spurs going 5-1 in those matches as well as being 3-3 ATS, 3 of those 6 matches have ended over the total.

I’m keen on the over in Game 2 on this series, the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two sides, The Thunder are 6-1 on the over when playing with one days rest, 4-1 on the over in their last 5 when facing a side with a winning record, 24-9-1 on the over in their last 34 Tuesday matches and 5-2 on the over in their last 7 matches at any venue.

The Spurs are averaging 101 points this season and will again tonight have every chance to attain that mark again, the Thunder need more from their stars and supporting cast, I have a feeling that the Thunder will win tonight but to even have a chance to do that they need to score over 100 points and tonight I expect them to do just that….Good Luck.
