Ligue 1: Lorient v Lyon
Lorient is currently holding nineth position which is quite high considering their reputation. However, many teams have similar number of points and it’s a position which can easily slip them away, espcially because Bordeaux started playing well, but they are not the only team that is just behind Lorient. Their position is mainly based on their good home performances, meanwhile they have pretty poor away 1-2-5 away record. Still, they are in a very good form playing games at home and this is where they are taking most of the points. Having said that, it’s obvious they are hoping to make another surprise here, but they will have lots of problems as Lyon started playing much better and they have many injury problems. Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere, Gregory Bourillon, Sebastian Dubarbier, Sigamary Diarra and Julien Quercia are all out for Lorient.
Lyon, after a successful campaign in Champions League, can now put all their efforts on Ligue 1. They are currently on only 4th position, with seven points less than league leaders from Montpellier, mainly their away performances needs to be improved. However, they are in a good form having won three last matches making goal difference 13:3, Toulouse, Auxerre and Dinamo (CL) were the victims.Guests could be without Michael Bastos who is doubtful for this game, however comparing to recent injury troubles that Lyon had, only one questionable player is actually very good situation for them.
Lorient have been playing pretty good at home so far, but with so many unavailable players it’s impossible to see them winning this one against in-form guests which are almost complete for this match, that was rare occasion this season.
