League Two: Macclesfield vs Crewe

Macclesfield remained into the relegation zone following their defeat on Monday away to Port Vale with the score of 1-0. Port Vale had full control of the match in the first half, dominating at every point of the field, while Macclesfield showed nervous and scared, also were lucky as Port Vale had two shots to the crossbar. In the second half, the guests raised their performance and in 75′ minute they had a great opportunity to open the score with a penalty which was missed, and Port Vale scored the only goal of the match ten minuted before full time and took the victory. This defeat was the fifth one during their last six games, they have still now victory into 2012 and they are involved now in relegation troubles. As the season progresses towards the end, they more and more stress, and with four points away from Barnet, which is the first team above the relegation zone, they have to take points today. Striker Matt Smith is questionable, while main defenders Elliott Hewitt and Paul Morgan are out, the same with midfielder Dwayne Mattis.

Crewe is on a great form for some time, remaining unbeaten for twelve matches. On Monday, even after two consecutive draws, returned to winning ways with the emphatic 3-0 win at home against Bristol Rovers. These four games remaining are very critical for them, and finally Crewe has a great chance to participate into promotion playoffs after long time, if they take points today. Defender Matt Tootle returns to main eleven, while striker Max Clayton still recovering from leg injury.
