League One: Wycombe vs Yeovil
Another away defeat, the fourth in a row, suffered Wycombe last Saturday, losing 3-0 away to Sheffield United. The supremacy of Sheffield United were really visible as they had 70% possesion in the game and created many chances to score. In the first half, defense of Wycombe was ok and held the 0-0, but since the hosts prior to the score at 66′, the game changed totally. Wycombe necessarily opened the game to equalize, thus accept two more goals in 73′ and 90′ and United got a perfectly fair victory. Wycombe remains marginally above relegation zone, however, they have given one or more games in comparison with the three of the teams that are threaten by relegation. Away from home have many weaknesses, but when playing at home they look reliable most recently, measuring two consecutive wins. No major problems for Waddock, in view of today’s match, however, he said he would make some changes to the original shape to improve the image of the team.
Yeovil received the third consecutive away defeat, losing to Sheffield Wednesday with the score of 2-1. Their appearance in the first half were really good, Yeovil controlled the game and managed to open the scoring with a goal in 41′. A totally different picture in the second half, when the hosts raised their performance, equalized at 57′ and pushed around the rest, managed to get the victory, scoring ten minutes before the end. Despite the defeat, Yeovil remained two points above relegation zone, and the last two weeks they faced several postponements due to frozen fields. Main defender Paul Huntington will be absent from today’s game due to punishment, while defender Ryan Dickson returned to Southampton as his loan came to an end.
Yeovil is not that bad as the league table shows, they are scoring everywhere to their last eight games, home or away, except away to Sheffield Utd, and they prefer open play like the did last weekend. Wycombe is all or nothing when playing at home, avoiding draws, and their open play results in lot of goals received till now (25 in 15 games played.). This should be another open game with more than two goals to be scored.
