Serie A: Udinese vs Cagliari
Milan traveled to Udine to face the home team where Udinese was fortunate enough to score first with the first good opportunity by Di Natale making the 1-0 at 19′. Then the hosts closed in defense and tried to hit with counter attacks. They had some opportunities, but Milan equalized at 77th minute with Maxi Lopez, and at 85′ El Shaarawy formed the final 1-2. Last Thursday, Udinese welcomed PAOK for the first phase of 32 of the Europa League and although they had opportunities, they stayed at 0-0. Udinese was little bit unlucky, having a shot in bar and another two good opportunities to score, but PAOK played massive defense and finally got the valuable 0-0. The absence of Di Natale and and Asamoah where clearly visible that costed them a lot, something that probably we will see tonight again. They are now out of the first three in the standings, and have to cope with increased levels of fatigue and some important absentees. Di Natale, Isla, Badu and Pinzi are all out of the game, the only good news are that Asamoah is back.
Cagliari welcomed Palermo last week in a match where Cagliari was better, got stronger in the match and had the possesion, but not created many opportunities to score to the first half. To the second half Cagliari was better again, Palermo failed to react effectively after Cagliari scored twice, and they only reduced the score to 2-1 near the end. Cagliari is efficient and reliable at home ground, got the perfect result against Palermo, and continued their good form. They have collected seven points in the last three games, and want to finish to the first half of the table. Udinese has not got the results they wanted recently and this makes them maybe more dangerous, at home ground Cagliari always playing very well against strong opponents, but tonight is different as they play away from home and they must repeat a good performance to get a result. Captain Daniele Conti is punished, while out of action have been El Kabir and Nene.
Udinese have to face fatigue and absents in their attacking line, while Palermo coming from great results. Cagliari not to lose is my bet.
