International friendly: USA vs Scotland
Game will be played at Jacksonville (USA), a friendly game for the US team that prepares for the World Cup qualifiers of 2014. It is the first of the three international friendly matches US team will play, the other two are against Brazil and Canada, before the official games against Antigua and Guatemala, to be held on 8 and June 12 respectively. The federal manager, Jurgen Klinsmann, is for 10 months at the national team of America, and after the first disappointing results, he managed to improve their team, leading to several wins, including four consecutive victories, all friendly games, and three of them away from US field. Klinsmann has made a team that places great emphasis on defense and does not accept goal easy. The three most recent games they won 1-0 against Venezuela, 0-1 away to Panama, and 0-1 away to Italy, treating all games like official games. Tim Howard (Everton) will be their main goalkeeper, beneath the beams, the experienced Steve Cherundolo of Hannover on the right side of defense and Edgar Castillo (Tijuana) on the right. Central defense will be probably Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers) and Oguchi Onyewu (Sporting Lisbon), while in front of them will be Michael Bradley (Chievo) and Jermaine Jones (Schalke). Clint Dempsey of Fulham will be the playmaker to the midfield line, while Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy) and Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim) will be to the sides. Striker will be probably Jozy Altidore of AZ Alkmaar.
This is the third friendly game of Scotland, after the finale of the preliminary phase of the European Championship, which found them in third place behind Spain and Czech Republic and out the final phase of the competition.
