Helsinborgs vs Celtic
Helsingborgs progressed in the third round of Champions League qualifying stage over Slask and it was already good enough success for them as they secured playing in Europa League group stage this Autumn. The team has started their Champions League campaign from second round and match up against The New Saints, champion of Wales. First match in Wales ended as a goalless draw, but the Swedish champions overpowered them at home with a comfortable 3:0 victory.
Anyway, as said, in third round they met Polish champions Slask and came out from the first leg played in Poland with unexpected 3:0 victory. After such a win, second leg at home was just a matter of procedure, as they once again beat the Polish side, this time with a 3:1 score. Slask was terrible in this match up, with very slow game play and according to Helsinborg’s coach, the Swedish team came to Poland to defend and get a draw, but during the game they understood they can attack as the Polish players almost just stood on the pitch. Swedish team signed tall Serbian striker Nikola Djurdjic just in time to play against Celtic today (one of the better striker in Norwegian championship having scored twelve goals in eighteen matches).

Celtic, on the other side, started their Champions League campaign with the victory over Helsinki in the third round of qualifying stage. In the first leg which they played at home, they dominated for the whole game, but won with a 2:1 result only. Although they went to Finland for the second match with a bit scary result as HJK scored and lost with a goal difference, Celtic proved to be much better team and took away 2:0 comfortable victory.
However, the things didn’t went so smooth for them in domestic league as they hardly overcome Aberdine in the season opener (1:0 victory) and only drew in second round match against Ross County as they escaped losing the game with a goal from Commons in the injury time. It’s obvious that their mind is set for this clash against Helsinborg as winning the domestic title should be easy for them without Rangers this year. Guests will have defender Scott Brown, Gary Hooper, James Forrest and Pat McCourt who all missed last weekend’s 1:1 game against Ross County available once again, while Anthony Stokes, Dylan McGeouch, Daryl Murphy, Mo Bangura, Filip Twardzik and Rabiu Ibrahim remain injured.
Open and interesting game is expected here as both clubs used to play that way, no matter how important the game is. Celtic will surely be looking to score a goal, while the hosts showed that they are not taking this game as another European match by signing the striker from Haugesund. From what their coach has said, they will try to attack Celtic and see what happens as they know they don’t stand much chances in Glasgow. Odds on over 2.5 goals are unrealistically big at this moment and surely worth a try.
