Helsingborgs progressed in the third round of Champions League qualifying stage over Slask and it was already good enough success for them as they secured playing in Europa League group stage this Autumn. Celtic, on the other side, started their Champions League campaign with the victory over Helsinki in the third round of qualifying stage. In the first leg which they played at home, they dominated for the whole game, but won with a 2:1 result only. Although they went to Finland for the second match with a bit scary result as HJK scored and lost with a goal difference, Celtic proved to be much better team and took away 2:0 comfortable victory.
