Championnat: Rennes vs Auxerre
After Saturdays matches, Rennes is at seventh position but only four points below third placed Lille and with a chance to climb up to fourth position if they managed to get all three points in front of their own fans. After many ups and downs during autumn, probably caused by Europa league matches too, Rennes has now entered peaceful period where they are getting much more stable results. Rennes is coming of a 2:0 win over Lorient on the road which gave them hope that they can get the third position which leads to Champions League next season. This will be their goal till the end of the season as Europa League spot looks like pretty sure thing for them, looking at their form. Home team coach has no fresh injury worries and will all players available for selection.
Auxerre is facing up really difficult situation these days. The team is four points below safe zone and didn’t win in last eight matches. Guests are having only four wins this season and huge number of draws (and not wins) made them being in such a deep crisis right now. Many critics say that their current coach make take responsibility for poor results and step down from the manager position, but despite them, he still continued to enjoy support of the board while better results are not coming. Last weekend they made a good result, 2:2 draw against Lille on the road, but none of the Auxerre board or players is satisfied with this. Additionally, Auxerre will have to travel without suspended duo Anthony Le Tallec and Omar Kossoko, while striker Yaya Sanogo will miss the rest of the season after surgery.
