Bundesliga: Hannover vs Schalke
Hannover is in a really good form at the moment, not only they are at high 7th position in Bundesliga, but they are also performing very well in Europa League being really close to secure their spot in Europa League at spring. With a 2-1 victory over FC Kopenhagen three days ago, Hannover has eight points, four points more then third placed Kopenhagen two rounds before the end of group stage and has very big chance to qualify for next phase. In domestic league, on the other side, they are also doing very good job having 5-3-3 record and having 18points they are in European competitions positions right now. Especially good were theirs home performances with a 4-2-0 record beating Dortmund, Bayern and Werder, all three great German clubs. Their positive results at home are probably because they are playing really open minded and attacking football with no too much reservations against opponent, they are scoring a lot, but receiving too. Henning Hauger, defensive midfielder will be out for this clash among some other players who still didnt get the chance to play this season anyway.
Schalke on the other side, after not that great start of the season are now already at 2nd position and will surely be looking to continue their great run (5 games with no loss, four out of these five were wins) and get Champions League spot for the next season. They are also playing Europa League, just like theirs opponents today but failed to win over poor Aek Larnaca at home drawing 0-0. Of course, some important players were left out for that game, but the Germans have very good chance to qualify for next step anyway. Schalke is alongside Bayern, the most effective team in Bundesliga, but also receives a lot, 16 goals in 11 games. This makes them one of the most interesting teams to watch this season. Guests will be without Ralf Fahrmann, first choice goalkeeper.
Goals are expected here, both teams tend to play open and attacking minded football. Hannover will surelly not be defending here and missing of Schalke’s first goalkeeper will clearly be positive thing for goals here.
