2. Bundesliga: FSV Frankfurt vs Aachen
Frankfurt will have to rely on their home matches, if they are to complete their relegation battle successfully. At least, this is what was obvious from their two previous home matches when they won over two very good opponents, especially last win over Munchen 1860 as they totally outplayed opponent and finally got a deserved 3:1 win. The second one, was three weeks ago, against Karlsruhe 2:1. Additionally, they stayed undefeated with a goalless draw away to Braunschweig last weekend. Good results in recent matches will surely give them boost as they are awaiting one of the biggest rivals in relegation battle. Their tonight’s opponent is at play-out position with four points less and with a win here, Frankfurt would surely be much, much safer with seven points difference with the play-out position. Home side will be missing only one important player – right back Alexander Huber.
Aachen, on the other side, is having really difficult season. They didn’t enter it very well and were at the rock bottom for the most of the autumn, as they progressed a bit during November and December, their efforts didn’t pay out as they are simply making too much draws and can’t make the difference with other teams when having twelve draws out of twenty six matches. Recently, Aachen entered poor form once again as they have three losses in a row and only due to even poorer quality of their relegation rivals, they are not already out. Additionally, guests have scored only once in last five matches, last weekend when they were defeated 1:3 at home to Union Berlin. Guests will be without two important defenders, Mario Erb and Tobias Feisthammel.
