Euroleague - Panathinaikos v Dynamo Moscow

Preview By Tipster Hayate (Greece)

Tipster Avatar Finally we have reached the Top8 phase of Euroleague competition. In the second game of the day Panathinaikos meets at home Dynamo Moscow and coach Obradovic meets his best man and coach of the Russian team Dusan Ivkovic. Two former players of Panathinaikos,Lazaros Papadopoulos and Antonis Fotsis, who were also part of the green team which won the Euroleague some years ago visit Athens as opponents this time.

Panathinaikos is the clear favorite of the series but against Dynamo has to reach a high level of performance in order not to have any problems.Squad news:Ramunas Siskauskas is the only absense for Panathinaikos team. The lithuanian shooting guard is expected to return soon but he will rather not play in this phase. On the other hand Dynamo has not any absense and Dusan Ivkovic should be very happy for this.Reserve power forward Obina Ekezie will play again after his injury but he does not seem ready.

Especially for the team which has the home advantage the first game of the series is very crucial.I see a clear win for Panathinaikos tomorrow.Dynamo's game is based mainly on the two greek big men Fotsis and Lazaros.Yuri Vasiliev, the reserve center, can not replace equally Papadopoulos in case that the greek player face a problem with fouls. As i said before Obina Ekezie is not ready yet after his injury. On the other hand Panathinaikos has a depth and many solutions inside the basket. Also the two americans of the Russian team,Eddie Gill and Taquean Dean are very unstable players.Especially Dean's performance changes from game to game impressively.Versus Nikos Xatzivrettas,an excellent defender,i expect many turnovers and missed shots from the american guard.Sure Travis Hansen who was released by Dynamo because of a long injury could give some extra solutions inside the game.

The Greens against teams such as Dynamo rarely have problems and in most cases reach to an easy win.The Russians lost easily in Treviso and Malaga from weaker teams than Panathinaikos.I see a win for the greek team by 18 points or more.
