Fognini vs Djokovic

Novak Djokovic, until recently the best player of the world, but now he will start on Olimpic games as world No.2. IMO the first Djokovic's opponent is just what Serbian need at the start. Fabio Fognini is not too big threat at all, at least not on grass, but at the same time he is well known name on ATP tour so Novak will take this match maximum seriously. And in that case I give low chances to the Italian.

 

On grass, Fognini had few or not success at all.The last big name against whom Italian has played on grass was Roger Federer on this year Wimbledon. Back then Fognini was defeated easily winning only six games in three sets. After Wimbledon he was on two tours (clay), Umag and Hamburg bit even there had no success and both times lost in early stages (2nd round).

 

About Novak we all know pretty much all. Lately his focus is only on major competitions. He has not played anything lately except Wimbledon and before that the last tournament for him was Roland Garros. He failed to defend title at Wimbledon and that is why lost first ATP position, but we can expect to see him again on the highest level and very motivated. The same as in Davis Cup, Djokovic will be very motivated to play for Serbia. He ia already a owner of bronze Olimpic medal from China 4 years ago and now he wants something more and IMO we will see him and Federer in the finals. Yesterday Roger had problems in oppening round, still I believe Novak will have much better start.
