Germany vs Greece

Germany is the big favorite in this quarterfinal tie and this is the most normal thing. But still odds around 1.30 are not good enough and this is why I'll take clear win for the Germans at very good odds. I like this bet more than the handicap, because Greece will play really defensive football and a 1:0 result is very possible, while in the same time I really can't see how Greece is going to score, especially without their captain Karagounis.

 

Germany, along with Spain are still the two big favorites for the title. The team was the only one, who managed to get three wins in the group stage and it came in the "group of death", with team like Holland, Denmark and Portugal, which is even more impressive. Boateng is back after suspension and will most probably take the place of Bender tonight. Germany will control the ball almost the whole game and with really strong and tall defenders like Hummels and Badstuber they will be very good at the back. Greece will wait on free kicks or corners, but against the tall Germans they won't have advantage even in their best situations, so I rate the chance for them to score as very little. On the other side, with Ozil, Podolski and Muller, the favorites can create a lot of opportunities for Gomez and I'm sure that he'll score at least one of them. The good thing for Low is that even if Gomez does not have a day, he has goal scorer like Klose on the bench, who is ready to get in and score if the coach give him that chance.

 

Greece will have a lot of troubles in the midfield without their captain Karagounis. Also out with suspension is Holebas.
