Ullensaker Kisa vs Lillestrom

A very interesting cup match between two neighbors and big rivals tonight.

 

Ull/Kisa has been the most surprising team in Norwegian football in the first half of the season. They play in Adeccoligaen (1 Division), and have beaten one top team after another after being promoted from 2 Division last year. They have bought many experienced players and mixed them into the team in a perfect way. Kim Holmen (former Lyn, Kongsvinger) and Paal Steffen Andresen (former Lillestrom) have been some of the most important players.

 

Ull/Kisa made 8-1-1 in their first ten games of the season and got 24 points. In their last match before the summer-break, Ull/Kisa grabbed a strong victory against Sarpsborg 08 (2-1). Ull/Kisa has 4-0-1 at home so far, and they have beaten Hauerseter (6-0) and Traff (1-0) in their two first cup-matches, both were away from home. They have got a new striker on loan, Chuna Anene from Vaalerenga in Tippeligaen, which could start tonight.

 

Lillestrom started the season quite well when it comes to their way of playing. As the season went on, their playing and commitment got worse and worse. This has resulted in that Lillestrom is right above the relegation zone. Their last match before the summer-break was terrible. They lost against the worst team in Tippeligaen, Stabaek (4-1).

 

Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson is sold to Wolverhampton, but must stay in Lillestrom until 13th of July, which he dosen’t like at all. Defenders Espen Nystuen, Steinar Pedersen and striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen will be missing this match due to injuries, while Petter Vaagan Moen (midfield) is doubtful. It is rumoured that Sigurdarson will start, despite his criticism of the board in Lillestrom for “forcing him to stay”.

 

The self-confidence is huge in the Ull/Kisa squad and every player are giving everything for each other. Their coach, Arne Erlandsen has both played and been coach in Lillestrom so he knows the opponent very well. Lillestrom has a total lack of self-confidence, but they will be favourites since they play in Tippeligaen, which is a level above Ull/Kisa. However, Ull/Kisa has shown no fear for the better teams through the season, and I mean that they have a serious chance here.
