Firstly, they have ended second in their group, group that consisted of Norway, Iceland and Denmark as their biggest opponents. However, they did a good job in these two legs, getting a goalless draw in Bosnia and winning them easily 6:2 in Lisbon. As most of the other teams, they also played two friendly before EURO, playing at home against F.Y.R Macedonia 0:0 and losing to Turkey 1:3.
