Gasquet vs Murray

I expect a very close game with at least four very tight sets with an average of ten games per set here.

 

Gasquet is in very good shape on clay this year and he has just three defeats in fourteen games in the red carpets in 2012 (11-3). The Frenchman, who is currently number 20 in the world played final in Estoril (lost against Del Potro), quartergfinal in Rome (lost against Ferrer) and in Madrid lost in the third round against Roger Federer. All the three defeats were against a top ten players and today he is up against Murray, who is number four. Gasquet played four sets against Haas in the third round two days ago, but after losing the first one in tiebreak, he didn't give any chance to the German in the next three (6:3, 6:0, 6:0).So far in his career Gasquet has 157 wins and just 67 defeats on clay and 44-16 in the last three season. He already made his best performance in Paris in his career with the fourh round this season (so far his best was the third round).

 

Andy Murray is number four in the world, but for sure the worst surface for him is exactly the clay courts. This season he has eight wins and four defeats on the red courts and his best performance was the third round both in Barcelona and Monte Carlo. In the second round he had some injury problems against Nieminen, when lost the first set with 1:6, but then took the next three. Two days ago he beat Giraldo (number 50 in the world) in straight sets, but today against Gasquet he'll have bigger problems and a much better opponent.

 

The two player have met twice so far on clay. This year in Rome Gasquet won with 2:1 sets (6:7, 6:3, 6:2), while back in 2010 Murray won in the first round here in Paris with 3:2 sets.

 

Today I expect a very tight game with at least four sets and the over 37.5 that Pinnacle offers is a very good option for me.
