Elche vs Gimnastic

After an awful last three months of the season, in which they won just two of fourteen games (2-2-10), from a team fighting for a playoff place, Elche turned to a team from the middle of the table. The team won just a point in their last five games in Segunda (0-1-4), in which they scored just twice. The inured players and the suspensions can be some excuse, but still for a team with their goals it is more than unappropriate to have such an embarrasing performance. The home form of Elche is also maybe the worst in the whole league. The team lost seven of their last nine games at "Manuel Martinez Valero" (1-1-7). Now the players have nothing else to do, then to win their last match for their fans and at least to finish this awful end of the season with in a good mood. Out for today are Pelegrin (28/4), Rodas (15/2), Palanca (25/1) and Luque (23/0).

 

Gimnastic knows their faith from a long time. The team is in the bottom of the table, fifteen points behind the safety zone and we can say for sure that they were the worst team in Segunda this season and the relegation is no surprise at all. Gimnastic managed to win just one of their last eleven games (1-4-6). For today coach Jorge D'Alessandro will be without ten players, which has played at least ten games this season. Out are Arzu (29/0), Moran (33/8), Tuni (26/3), Rey (25/1), Abalo (17/0) and Galindo (12/0), Juste (24/0), Powell (20/9) and Orbegozo (11/0). Six of them plays in the midfield, while Powel (moved to Huracán Valencia on 7 May) and Moran are the team's top two goalscorers.

 

Elche has five wins in their last seven games at home against this opponents (5-2-0) and today I expect them to be more motivated, just for trying to make their fans a bit happy in the last day of the campaign.
