Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos

This is the fifth and last game for the Greek championship finals that will be played at Olympiakos stadium. Who ever wins, is the champion. Panathinaikos won 84-74 on Wednesday, with Batiste having a great game scoring twenty three points and winning eleven rebounds, something that was not expected, as Batiste was terrible to the previous game at Olympiakos stadium, losing totally the offensive rebounds. Anyway, the great game of Batiste brought the series to fifth game and everything will be decided today. Besides Batiste, Panathinaikos had considerable help from Diamantidis, Jasikevicius and Kaimakoglou, while very important points in the fourth period scored Kalathis and Perperoglou. The player who stood out compared to previous games, was Smith, who scored seven points, won many battles in the racket, and was calm to decisive seconds.

 

Olympiakos started very good the fourth game, played very well and organized, most important, they played without too much stress, being constantly in front of the score to the first half. Spanoulis had eight assists and he was the one that made Olympiakos to play with fast pace, while Law was the one that scored rapidly. Olympiakos threatened mainly with three points and long shots, since this time they did not managed score from offensive rebounds.

 

To all four games we saw till now, Olympiakos has a freshness and they are thirsty for the title, playing faster basketball than Panathinaikos. They lost both games at OAKA in the very few details, and in my opinion they are better than Panathinaikos at this moment. From the other side, Panathinaikos is for nine consecutive years champions, with much experienced players and coach, but from time they screwed it up at Euroleague final four, they play with no confidence. I think that Olympiakos will clear this game easier than everyone expect.
