Tromso vs Brann

Tromso has 5-3-3 in their first 11 games of the season which takes them to a 5th place at the current table. It is already seven points up to the league leader Stromsgodset, so Tromso must get things back on track here in order to stay up within the best teams. They have been awful away with 0-2-3 and 4-10 on goal difference. Only Stabaek are weaker away from home and that says it all about were Tromso need to improve a lot. At home it is a totally different story though with 5-1-0 and 15-3 on goal difference. Their last two wins at home have been very convincing with victories against Vaalerenga (3-1) and Viking (5-1). They were quite good against Molde last Wednesday. Even if they lost 3-2 in the end, they could have got 1 point from that match, but Molde dealt with it. Kara (midfield, 9 games, 2 goals) will be missing during a red card suspension, while Thomas Kind Bendiksen (midfield, 7 games, 0 goals) is doubtful.

 

Brann has been the biggest disappointment together with Lillestrom so far this season. But they have had a good period after the win against Lillestrom (3-4) at the 13th of May (just like Lillestrom). Brann won against Sogndal (5-0), before loosing aganst Aalesund away from home (2-0) and finally a win against Fredrikstad (2-0) at home on last Wednesday. Brann have just 1-0-4 and 7-12 on goal difference away from home this year, and the away match against Tromso is one of the hardest in Tippeligaen. Kristoffer Barmen (midfield,striker, 8 games, 2 goals) and Tomasz Sokolowski (midfield, 2 games, 0 goals) are out with injuries. Important Rudolph Austin (midfield) will return after suspension.

 

Tromso are very strong at their home stadium Alfheim. As the table shows Tromso get their points at home, and with their poor performances on the road, Tromso must win their home games to stay among the top teams. Brann has disappointed very much away from home and they should get big problems in this match. They have trouble with the keeper position and they have used 17 year old Oystein Ovretveit in goal for the past two games. Ovretveit has done really well so far and is expected to play in this match also. However, he will get his biggest challenge yet against the 2nd best team at home in Norway right now, Tromso.
