French Open vs Outright Winner

This is one more bet from Pinnacle's props for Tennis French Open 2012. This time it is from WTA. Which quarter will the winner be from? IMO the best chances will have some of the girls from the 4th quarter. Those are Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Caroline Wozniacki, Julia Georges, Kaia Kanepi, Maria Kirilenko, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Shuai Peng ... Of course that all my hopes are placed on Serena and Sharapova. These two are the 1st and 3rd favorurite of the tournament.

 

Other quarters of the draw:

 

1st, Victoria Azarenka is the main favourote in this part of the draw and also overall, but her form is not so good as it was in some previous period. She was hit with injury problems and who ever wins 4th quarter (Serena or Sharapova), should have more chances in possible meeting with Azarenka. Beside Azarenaka, I do not see any other player in 1st quarter that could be threat to Serena or Sharapova.

 

2nd, Radwanska is best rated player in this part of the draw. Still, she is not that level of quality to cope with Serena or Sharapova on such big tournament. Radwanska never was in SF of any Grand slam. Here in Paris, she was never even in QF. Beside her, the best players in this part of the draw are: Kuznetsova, Ivanovic, Penneta, Bartoli... all solid players but nothing more than that. At this point no one of them can win Roland Garros. Also I should mention Venus Williams who is also in 2nd quarter, but she is not even seeded player this time. It will be hard for her to win this part of the draw, while you can imagine how it would be a huge surprise if she would win the whole tournament.

 

3rd, Petra Kvitova and Na Li are the two girls with most chances in this qaurter. Na Li won last year, but this time it is clear that her form is not so good. For Petra Kvitova, clay-court is not the best surface. She is much better on fast surfaces like hard court or grass where her amazing service and strong forehand are powerful weapons. Beside these two, I should also mention Schiavone, one more former winner here or maybe even young Mona Barthel as possible surprise. Still who ever of these reach the SF, wont have the same chances as Sharapova or Serena Williams.

 

Note, if you bet only on Sharapova and Serena Williams as outright winner with different stakes of course, you can get slightly higher profit than from these 2.20. Still, with my option chances are much higher because many more players are involved.
