French Open vs David Ferrer

This is bet from Pinnacle's props for Tennis ATP French Open 2012. David Ferrer to win 3rd quarter of the draw. It means that Ferrer needs to enter the semifinals. IMO he is able to do this. So far he never played in SF of Roland Garros (two times he was in QF, 2005, 2008). But now at age of 30, I think this is his best chance. There are couple reasons for my such opinion: First there is no doubt that when Ferrer is on his best, then he is after Rafael Nadal the best clay-court tennis player. Second reason is great draw for Ferrer on this season French Open. He is not in the same part of the draw with any of the top 3 favourites (Nadal, Djokovic and Federer), but he is with Andy Murray who honestly is not quite ready and I doubt that Murray will reach QF stage where Ferrer could meet him.

 

This is the exact sequence of opponents for Ferrer:

 

1st round, Lacko,

 

2nd round, Paire/Ramos,

 

3rd round, Youzhny is the toughest possible opponent,

 

4th round, the most likely John Isner,

 

QF: for place in semi-finals it shoud be Andy Murray but as I already said because of the weak form of British player I doubt it will be him, the most likely it will be Richard Gasquet.

 

Against all the aforementioned players, I see Ferrer as extremely strong favorite.
