Filip Krajinovic and Nicolas Devilder in first round of French Open. Both players are without too good results lately. Who ever wins today, second round on Grand slam will be nice result. Devilder already was once in second round of Roland Garros (2008) while for young Krajinovic this will be debut in the main draw.

 

The Serbian youngster (20) at one point of his career was a great talent. Already at age 16 he was among 250-300 players, best result had 2 years ago (170). Also he was chosen by a Roger Federer for sparring partner at one point. But, his progress did not work as planned, Krajinovic just stopped at one point and today he is only 619th player on ATP. So, I was suprised to see him as favorite against Frenchman.

 

Nicolas Devilder is also without good recent results, but still experience is on his side. His best place on ATP tour was 60th in 2008, while today he is only on 281st but this is still much better than Krajinovic.

 

Both, Devilder and Krajinovic had to play three qualifying rounds (best of 3) before main draw. Krajinovic won only once in straight while two times played third set. On the other hand, Devilder won all three matches 2-0 but there were two tie-break and two 7-5 sets. All in all, I don't see any of these two able to win in straight sets today. So, 4 sets is at least what we can expect, while 36.5 games in that case is not big line.
