France vs England

Maybe it is early to make a prediction for this game, but after seeing today Roy Hodgson's selection of players that will go for Euro 2012, this one is easy for me to call. He has called up Stewart Downing and Andy Caroll ,Liverpool players, who have been absolutely embarassing this season. Johan Henderson is in the stand up list. Absolutely shocking decisions for me.For example, Downing had 0 assists and 0 goals this season and he is going to play at Euro. Maybe Hodgson is trying to please Liverpool fans? I don't know. Michael Carrick who has been at the heart of Man United midfield this season misses out, also Arsenal wonderkid Oxlade Chamberlain,who is miles better than Downing, misses out. An experinced and one of the best defenders of the last 10 years Rio Ferdinand is out of the squad, Micah Richards,who has been superb for Man City is out as well. But Lescott,who's mistakes nearly cost Man City a title is in the squad and is likely to play in the starting 11.

 

I am quite sure that England will disapoint us in this tournament. FA made a big mistake when they allowed Fabio Cappelo to leave. For me England has no chance to win against France in the first game. The best player Wayne Rooney wont play. All they can hope for is making a bus and trying to play 0-0. But that wont happen. France have significantly improved under Laurent Blanc,and have a great squad. Nasri, Benzema, Ribery, Giroud, Menez, Ben Arfa etc means such a quality in attack. And England will have to choose between young Danny Welbeck, andy carrol and Jermain Defoe. I would go for Welbeck and Defoe,but for France that is simply not enough. The most dangerous man in England team in attack is Ashely Young for me, i can't see Steven Gerrard or Theo Walcott delivering there. France will not lose this game,and is likely to win it. Odds for France 0 are very good now.
