Kansas vs Boston

In the first match of the series, last night, the Boston Red Sox trashed the Royals 11-5, scoring four home-runs in the process.

 

The Bo-Sox are traditionally strong in Kansas (most teams are, except Kansas) and can score a few again tonight with the power of rookie Middlebrooks - two home runs last night - Ortiz, Gonzalez and Pedroia.

 

Boston has won seven of it's last eight road games and therefore should be feeling confident coming into this one. Whilst initially I had planned to have a bet on Boston to simply win the match-up, the value is in this bet. The bet would have won on six out of Boston's last eight road games and this statistic does not match up with the odds on offer, so back the Red Sox to score five or more runs.

 

Admittedly Kansas pitcher Danny Duffy is fairly mean in terms of giving up runs but with the Red Sox bats quite hot last night, the value is certainly in backing them.
